Hello!! Thanks for stopping by my page. I am a retired biology professor who also happens to be a self taught seamstress…..if you don’t count the hours I spent learning from my mom and grandmother and my 7th grade Home Economics class! I draw all my own patterns, and do all the sewing and painting and creating.
I guess I never really grew up because I never lost my love and fascination with dolls and just about anything in miniature. About 20 years ago my mom and I (mom painted portraits as a hobby) decide to try to make a copy of the cloth Columbian doll by Emma Adams and that is when I was hooked into making cloth dolls. I started selling locally over 15 years ago.
A few years ago I opened my shop on Etsy so my dolls can now be purchased online. Please use my Etsy shop link to view all the dolls that are for sale and to order any of the dolls you see here. People always ask me: why the name CatLadyDolls?
When I was making my very first dolls for sale I would put a little cloth cat with each doll.
I didn’t have a name for the dolls yet and a friend said since I love cats so much maybe I should be the ‘cat lady’ and the name stuck!
